1KOMMA5° is building Europe's leading energy software platform, Heartbeat AI, offering a one-stop shop for selling, installing and optimizing photovoltaics, storage, heat pumps and charging stations. The (Senior) Product Manager - Energy owns the global product vision for the energy business, covering dynamic tariffs, the energy retail proposition and the service portfolio across international markets. The role includes standardizing tariff logic, billing, metering and market communication processes and aligning engineering, trading, commercial and partner teams. The position is based in one of the offices in Berlin, Hamburg or Munich.

Responsibilities

Define the global product vision and strategy for building the energy business, including how the energy offering is provided, managed and scaled across international markets
Take full ownership of dynamic tariffs, the energy retail proposition and the service portfolio, ensuring a consistent customer-centric experience across all regions
Develop and harmonize the technical setup, operational processes and partner integrations that underpin the global energy business
Create scalable standards for tariff logic, billing, metering and market communication (Marktkommunikationsprozesse) to ensure seamless operation and compliance across markets
Evaluate and anticipate developments across international energy markets, including regulatory frameworks, trading mechanisms and pricing innovations, to inform product design and strategic decisions
Identify opportunities for differentiation and profitable growth
Act as an internal and external expert on energy retail operations, collaborating closely with engineering, energy operations, trading and partner teams
Align technical and commercial stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of the energy proposition
Define and monitor KPIs to track product performance, operational efficiency and profitability
Continuously identify areas for process improvement and standardization to drive scalable growth across global markets
Collaborate with commercial, marketing and sales teams to position energy products effectively and deliver measurable customer value

Requirements

4+ years of experience in product management within the energy retail, trading, or metering domain, ideally across multiple European markets
Proven track record in building or scaling energy retail products or systems, including dynamic tariffs, billing, market communication processes or trading integrations
Demonstrated ability to translate regulatory, commercial, and technical requirements into scalable and compliant energy propositions
Deep understanding of energy market structures, regulatory frameworks, and market operations, including communication standards, settlement processes and balancing
Awareness of emerging business models around flexibility, dynamic pricing, and digital energy services
Familiarity with energy market systems, metering infrastructure, energy data management, and trading or billing platforms
Experience working with engineering and data teams to implement technical integrations and automation within the retail energy value chain
Excellent interpersonal skills to align commercial, technical, and regulatory stakeholders across diverse cultural and organizational contexts
Strong relationship-building abilities to foster collaboration with internal teams, market partners, and external utilities or DSOs
Strong analytical mindset to evaluate product performance, market economics, and operational KPIs and turn insights into actionable improvements
Strategic thinker with a practical approach to problem-solving and execution
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with high strategic impact
Proactive, hands-on, and motivated by the opportunity to build the global utility of the future
Excellent written and spoken English and German
