Описание

Vancast Cloud Video is a private streaming platform for organisations running secure, multilingual, broadcast-quality live and on-demand events, built on infrastructure using AWS, Fastly and HIVE, and ISO 27001 certified. The company is hiring a software engineer to join its engineering team in Barcelona. The role is full-stack across a large monorepo of more than twenty deployable services and applications, taking features from idea to production without separating front-end from back-end between people. It is a full-time hybrid position with €40,000–45,000 gross annual pay.

Обязанности

Scope, build and ship full-stack features across infrastructure, services, interfaces, data and tests
Review your colleagues' code and have your own code reviewed
Keep the platform healthy through upgrades and migrations that keep a mature codebase quick to build in
Design the UI interfaces you build
Take features from idea to production across the whole product
Decide what gets built: take a real need, work out what it should become, design it and ship it

Требования

3+ years of professional software engineering experience
Degree in computer science, software engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
Strong TypeScript and modern JavaScript
Node back-end experience: REST APIs, request lifecycle, authentication and authorisation
Depth in a component-based front-end framework (ours is Angular), with reasoning about component design, state and reactivity
Relational databases and an ORM
Experience working in a large codebase you did not write
Deliberate use of AI coding tools with real leverage and full ownership of everything committed
Clear written English, as code, commits, tickets and documentation are in English
Preferred: AWS in depth — ECS, Lambda, CloudFront, S3, Step Functions
Preferred: live video and streaming — HLS, MediaLive, MediaPackage, MediaConvert, CDN and eCDN delivery
Preferred: NestJS and Sequelize
Preferred: real-time systems — websockets, server-sent events, Redis
Preferred: NX monorepos and GitLab CI

Условия

Full time, contrato indefinido (permanent contract)
Barcelona, remote-first; ideally one or two days a week together in person to begin with, flexible after that
9–6 as standard, flexible in practice
22 days of holiday a year, plus public holidays in Barcelona
€40,000–45,000 gross annual, depending on experience
