Описание

Lead Software Engineer role within the Dow Jones Platform Team, responsible for building next-gen web, mobile, and AI platforms for premium Dow Jones brands across B2C and B2B portfolio. Collaborating with engineers, product managers, and product designers to define, architect, and build the platform that will drive product innovation. Champions product scalability, usability, reliability, and performance while improving release and development processes across the organization.

Define and implement application architecture models and programming standards with direction setting support
Analyze complex technological problems and present solutions that span across multiple engineering teams
Partner effectively with product to manage scope and deliverables for the technical side of the product roadmap
Collaborate with engineers across Dow Jones and News Corp to build out products and leverage shared technologies
Handle and oversee deployments to production environments
Design and implement the developers', testing, application monitoring/control, change management and implementation processes
Define application development standards for designing, building and maintaining applications, application components, and common services
Identify areas of strategic technical debt and provide cost/benefit analysis for eliminating this debt with suggested timelines for prioritization

Требования

5+ years in software engineering, with 2-4 years in a lead engineering role
Knowledge of commercial business models across B2C and B2B digital products
Substantial experience in building online subscription products, advertising and privacy technologies, and high-traffic websites
Strong understanding of Javascript and the best practices around the web
Advanced CSS Knowledge: Grid, Flexbox, Media Queries, Container Queries, Transitions
Experience with AI tools (Copilot, Claude Code, OpenAI, etc.) for improving productivity and building consumer-facing products
Familiarity with designing and development of agentic software solutions
Record of collaborating with other engineers in large scale projects
Knowledge of Software Engineering fundamentals including web development, service-oriented architecture, cloud computing, test driven development and domain driven design
Proven understanding of Computer Science fundamentals including computer architecture, data structures, memory allocation and management, algorithms, and networking
Significant hands-on experience with AWS, GCP and/or other cloud providers
Exposure to Docker or other container-based application deployment
Experience with ExpressJs, React, Redis, NextJs, Terraform, Webpack, Elastic Search, GraphQL, React-Native, REST APIs, RDBMS and NoSQL, CLI and MCP
