Description

Cloud Studios is a Berlin app studio building premium, productised digital products; its current product GetMOW analyses how AI engines such as ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews represent B2B software brands and tells companies what to change to get recommended. The intern will own the backend that queries multiple AI platforms, processes the results and turns them into structured insight, moving the product from working prototype to a system that runs reliably at scale. Secondary to that, the role includes implementing UI work from the product designer's Figma designs and cleaning up parts of the existing frontend.

Responsibilities

Design and build the backend architecture for GetMOW's AI analysis engine: orchestration across multiple AI platforms, data pipelines, job scheduling, storage
Build AI workflows that hold up under real load — structured, tested, monitored, with clear failure handling
Set up the security and infrastructure basics: authentication, data handling, error handling, logging
Use AI coding tools such as Claude Code to build fast, while understanding and owning what ships
Implement UI features from Figma designs and refactor parts of the existing frontend codebase
Take technical decisions independently and be able to explain them

Requirements

Strong backend fundamentals: APIs, databases, async processing, system design
Practical experience building with LLMs or AI workflows: API integrations, structured outputs, multi-step pipelines, evaluation or similar
Coursework alone isn't enough — need something you've actually built
Familiarity with the stack or something close to it: Next.js, TypeScript, Supabase, Vercel
A habit of writing secure, maintainable code, not just code that runs once
Use AI tools to increase your speed, not to replace understanding your own system
Fluent English
Must currently be enrolled at a university or in vocational training
Mandatory internship (Pflichtpraktikum) required by study or training regulations, with enrollment certificate and proof of the requirement
Or voluntary internship alongside studies, maximum 3 months

Conditions

Duration: 3-6 months for mandatory internship or maximum 3 months for voluntary internship
Full-time, 30-40 hours per week
Berlin office preferred, ideally 2+ days per week; remote is possible
Start: as soon as possible
This internship is unpaid, in line with the legal conditions above
Towards the end, extension into a long-term paid role is discussed based on performance and fit
You own a production system from the start, not a peripheral feature
Direct, regular contact with the founders on technical and product decisions
