Description
Marsh is looking for a Business Analyst to join its accounting operations team, based in Warsaw with a hybrid schedule of at least three days a week in the office. The role independently supports strategic and tactical project work for Finance and Financial Systems, acting as an SME and leading small teams while liaising between IT, users and senior management. The analyst prepares strategic documents, researches and analyses issues, tests system enhancements and recommends process improvements based on process mapping, working across multiple global teams.
Responsibilities
Assist in the creation of strategic documents including project business cases, assessments, communication plans and detailed project plans
Work with the Financial Systems team and user groups to prepare the rationale for new system implementation
Research problems and issues, recommend solutions and provide tactical analysis associated with projects
Test system enhancements and upgrades, liaise between IT and user groups and support production users in their day-to-day jobs
Analyze data when required to support finance and financial systems work
Act as SME on projects, complete assigned tasks and present project updates to senior management within Finance
Recommend process improvements based on analysis
Perform process mapping to evaluate accounting processes and compare options such as robotics versus other solutions
Lead small teams on minor projects, track tasks and issues, follow up with responsible individuals and escalate when appropriate
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field
Demonstrable commercial experience in business analysis, preferably within accounting or finance
Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and analytically
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information to non-technical stakeholders
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, global environment
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, Tableau and Power BI and experience with data visualization techniques
Conditions
Hybrid role based in the Warsaw - Prosta office
Requirement to work at least three days a week in the office
At least one anchor day per week when the full team works in person
