Description
Bunge is looking for a Data Engineer to join a multidisciplinary Agile team in Rotterdam, working in a hybrid format. The role focuses on building high quality data pipelines and data products that drive analytics and data-driven decision-making across the enterprise. The engineer will partner with business analysts and solutions architects on supply chain data initiatives. It requires strong data architecture and SQL expertise, with Python or Scala and cloud/big data experience.
Responsibilities
Participate in supply chain data product projects, developing and maintaining data pipelines that follow ETL principles
Solve data problems to deliver insights that help the supply chain business team achieve its goals
Create data products for analytics and data scientist team members to improve their productivity
Foster a culture of sharing, reuse, design for scale, stability and operational efficiency of data solutions
Develop and deliver communication plans on analytic data engineering capabilities, standards and processes
Partner with business analysts and solutions architects to develop technical architectures for strategic enterprise projects
Work as part of a technical, cross-functional analytics team to solve complex data problems
Proactively gain insight into the global strategy and make data-driven decisions
Requirements
Bachelor's degree required, with Computer Science, MIS or Engineering preferred
2+ years of experience in a data engineering or architecture role
Expertise in SQL and data analysis
Experience with at least one programming language, Python or Scala preferred
Experience developing and maintaining data warehouses in big data solutions
Experience with cloud computing services and infrastructure in the data and analytics space
Database development experience using Hadoop or BigQuery
Experience with relational, NoSQL and cloud database technologies
Conceptual knowledge of dimensional modeling, ETL, reporting tools, data governance and data warehousing
Deep understanding of data architecture, data engineering, data analysis and reporting
Basic understanding of data science techniques and workflows
Strong problem-solving, communication, listening and influencing skills
English at minimum B2 level
