Description
The DigitStat center of the National Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Statistics is looking for a specialist with strong analytical thinking to develop modern AI and Machine Learning solutions based on statistical data. The role involves creating, testing and deploying ML models, including time‑series forecasting and classification, as well as working with LLM and RAG architectures. The candidate will collaborate with the professional Data Science and AI team to build AI products for the national statistics system.
Responsibilities
Develop, test, and deploy Machine Learning models based on statistical data.
Build time‑series forecasting models for macro‑economics, prices, and demographics.
Create classification and regression models using registry and statistical observation data.
Contribute to the STAT‑AI system, including work with LLM and RAG architectures.
Implement mechanisms to cite data sources used in STAT‑AI responses.
Develop AI solutions handling Uzbek and Russian statistical information.
Produce rapid AI/ML prototypes for government agencies and corporate clients.
Perform feature engineering, model evaluation, and data preparation processes.
Work with imbalanced, incomplete, and heterogeneous real‑world datasets.
Simultaneously manage multiple Data Science and AI projects.
Requirements
At least 3 years of practical experience in Data Science or Machine Learning.
Proficient in Python and SQL (PostgreSQL).
Good knowledge of Pandas, NumPy, and Scikit-learn libraries.
Hands‑on experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
Strong understanding of statistical methods, sampling, confidence intervals, hypothesis testing, and time‑series analysis.
Practical experience in feature engineering and model evaluation.
Ability to handle imbalanced and dirty data.
Experience with Git and understanding of deploying ML models to production.
Ready to work with confidential statistical and personal data under strict regulations.
Fluent in Uzbek and Russian languages.
Conditions
Work schedule: Monday‑Friday, 9:00–18:00, 5/2.
Office located at Mustaqillik shoh ko‘chasi 63, Tashkent.
Probation period of 3 months with a 14‑day onboarding program.
Official employment according to labor law, competitive salary determined after interview.
Additional bonuses based on project results.
