Description

Laelaps AI builds intelligent software that powers physical security robots and sensors. As an Infrastructure Engineer you will create the cloud platform that connects the robot fleet to operator intelligence, handling cloud setup, CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration and secure networking. The role is critical for a fast‑growing startup and involves ownership of both cloud and on‑prem deployments for security‑sensitive customers. Responsibilities

Build and maintain cloud infrastructure foundations on AWS or GCP, including networking and IAM
Design and implement secure networking solutions such as VPNs, TLS and PKI for robot‑to‑cloud communication
Create and manage CI/CD pipelines for both cloud services and on‑robot software
Deploy and operate Kubernetes clusters (including K3s) for edge and on‑prem environments
Implement OTA update mechanisms and configuration management for robot fleet management
Set up observability stack with logging, metrics, tracing and alerting using Grafana, Prometheus and related tools
Develop internal tooling to improve developer experience and reduce friction
Ensure security hardening, secrets management and compliance for enterprise and government customers

Requirements

4+ years in platform engineering, DevOps, SRE or related infrastructure roles
Deep experience with at least one major cloud provider such as AWS, GCP or Azure
Strong expertise in Kubernetes, including lightweight distributions like K3s
Proficiency with infrastructure‑as‑code tools like Terraform or Pulumi
Solid networking and security fundamentals: VPNs, TLS, certificate and PKI management
Experience building CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI or similar
Ability to write code in Python, Go or comparable systems languages
Track record of delivering developer‑facing platforms that improve engineering productivity
