Description

The Digital Identity team owns the authentication and login experience that every customer touches across the mobile banking product. This hybrid role based in Barcelona focuses on building and maintaining iOS authentication flows, biometric login, session stability and device trust on the Swift/iOS platform. The iOS engineer will co-own the iOS codebase, integrate third-party mobile SDKs, drive regression testing quality and contribute to architectural decisions for the identity layer. The role offers a high degree of autonomy, development and work-from-home budgets, relocation support and additional vacation days.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain iOS authentication flows — biometric login (Face ID/Touch ID), session stability and device management
Take co-ownership of the iOS codebase within the Digital Identity domain alongside the existing iOS engineer
Integrate and maintain third-party mobile SDKs (biometric authentication, security tooling) and own their upgrade and reliability cycle
Collaborate with Android and Backend engineers on cross-platform identity features, contributing to API design and shared testing infrastructure
Drive iOS regression testing quality, including Testrail suite maintenance and automated test coverage
Make architectural decisions for the iOS identity layer and tackle complex problems around security, performance and stability
Work with Product and stakeholders to shape the roadmap for the iOS experience

Requirements

Demonstrated knowledge and deep understanding of the iOS platform and Swift
Experience with iOS security frameworks — biometric APIs (LocalAuthentication), Keychain, or equivalent
Ability to showcase experience with a variety of iOS frameworks, including networking, UI, and testing
Experience working in an Agile development environment, ideally on authentication, identity, or security-adjacent features
Excellent debugging and strong analytical skills for session- and device-layer bugs
Proficiency with Jira and TestRail for issue tracking and test case management
Full professional proficiency in English
Strong sense of ownership with work shipping directly to customers
Systematic problem-solving approach under security and reliability constraints
Proactiveness, collaboration and eagerness to learn
Comfort working autonomously while staying connected across platform and backend disciplines
