Description
Principal Product Manager role owning the Order Management solution within a print commerce SaaS platform built for enterprise scale. The position drives product strategy, roadmap and technical credibility across APIs, events and micro-services while working closely with engineers and merchants. Remote-first role based in Germany, with mentoring responsibility for junior product managers.
Responsibilities
Build strong relationships with merchants and internal business domains
Understand the real why behind merchant requests, not just the surface ask
Anticipate what merchants and engineers will need as they grow and scale
Own complex products that impact multiple teams and business domains
Use data on order volume, merchant satisfaction and system performance to make decisions
Define clear success metrics and track them regularly
Understand how Order Management connects to APIs, events and micro-services
Work side-by-side with engineers on architecture and system design
Follow market trends and emerging technologies to propose new order management capabilities
Create a clear vision and roadmap for where Order Management is heading
Navigate complexity and uncertainty by gathering input from businesses, engineers, operations and leadership
Own the Order Management solution end-to-end and make the big decisions
Work across product teams such as Quote, Cart, Checkout and Fulfillment
Mentor 1-2 direct reports and help junior PMs in the domain grow
Build alignment without pulling rank and stay open to feedback
Requirements
8+ years of experience in product management, including 3+ years at a senior or principal level
Track record managing complex, multi-stakeholder products
Deep expertise in e-commerce, order management or similar mission-critical systems
Experience treating internal engineering teams as customers, such as platform products or internal tools
