Description

XUND is a European health‑tech scale‑up building a data backbone that turns clinical data into actionable knowledge graphs. The company serves healthcare providers across Europe and offers a purpose‑driven environment with remote‑first flexibility. We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to design and implement graph‑based data models and pipelines for clinical informatics.

Responsibilities

Design and extend clinical data models using ontologies (SNOMED‑CT, FHIR, UMLS)
Build and integrate parts of the clinical inference engine using rule‑based and statistical models
Develop ETL pipelines and ensure data consistency and interoperability
Translate research insights into production‑grade software in an agile team
Shape technical direction, schema design and engineering best practices across the team
Collaborate closely with medical experts to validate ontology mappings and workflows

Requirements

MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics or related field
Minimum 4 years experience in data engineering or medical data projects
Strong knowledge of graph databases, query languages and inference systems (Neo4j, Cypher, SQL, Datalog)
Proven expertise in Python and/or TypeScript development
Experience with cloud platforms (GCP) and CI/CD pipelines
Familiarity with clinical standards such as FHIR, SNOMED‑CT, UMLS is a plus
Ability to design and implement scalable data pipelines and inference engines
