Description

Balyasny Asset Management is seeking a highly technical Senior QA Engineer to drive quality across business-critical financial applications. The role involves building automated testing solutions, developing comprehensive test strategies, and partnering with developers to strengthen engineering practices. It requires strong Python and Playwright skills with 8+ years of QA experience.

Responsibilities

Develop test strategy, test plans, test cases across functional, exploratory, integration, regression, API, UI, data validation, and end-to-end testing
Build and maintain automated testing solutions for web applications and supporting services
Partner with developers to improve testability, prevent defects earlier, and strengthen engineering practices
Identify and communicate product, technical, and delivery risks clearly and effectively
Participate in code reviews, sprint ceremonies, and cross-functional design discussions
Help improve QA standards, developer testing practices, and release confidence
Contribute to internal documentation, knowledge sharing, and user enablement

Requirements

8+ years of experience in QA, SDET, or quality engineering roles
Strong programming skills in Python required
UI automation experience with Playwright (TypeScript) required
Demonstrated experience building automated test frameworks for web applications
Experience in API testing, UI testing, data testing, or end-to-end automation
Strong understanding of SDLC, CI/CD, version control, and modern engineering practices
Experience with Git and Jenkins
Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Conditions

Financial industry experience is a plus but not required
Experience using AI-assisted engineering tools such as Copilot, Claude, or Codex is a plus
