Description

An experienced Senior or Expert Data Scientist is sought to scale Generative AI across the Operations function of a large Nordic organization. The role covers designing, building, and scaling AI solutions from concept to production, including RAG, agentic AI, and LLM-powered applications. The specialist joins a team of engineers and business experts driving data-driven decision-making, operational efficiency, and strategic transformation. The position is based in Warsaw, Poland.

Responsibilities

Identify and shape high-impact AI and Generative AI opportunities together with business stakeholders
Prototype, build, deploy, and monitor production-grade AI applications
Design and implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), agentic AI, and LLM-powered solutions
Collaborate closely with product owners, engineers, architects, and business experts to deliver end-to-end solutions
Drive experimentation, evaluation frameworks, and model quality assessments
Contribute to AI architecture, reusable frameworks, and engineering best practices
Ensure solutions meet security, compliance, governance, and Responsible AI requirements
Support the adoption of AI across Operations through coaching, knowledge sharing, and technical leadership

Requirements

MSc or PhD in Data Science, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, with equivalent practical experience also valued
3+ years of experience delivering production-grade AI, Machine Learning, or advanced analytics solutions
Strong Python development skills and experience with modern AI/ML frameworks
Hands-on experience developing Generative AI applications using LLMs, RAG architectures, agentic frameworks, MCP, A2A, or similar emerging technologies
Proven ability to take ideas from prototype to scalable production solutions
Experience with testing, evaluation, experimentation, and performance measurement of AI systems
Strong understanding of software engineering, DevOps, observability, CI/CD, and production support
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Highly valued: experience working within AWS-based AI and data environments, with hands-on SageMaker, Bedrock, and cloud-native AI development
Highly valued: experience integrating AI solutions through Kong API Gateway and enterprise API ecosystems
Highly valued: knowledge of MLOps, LLMOps, model governance, and responsible AI practices
Highly valued: experience working in regulated industries such as banking, financial services, insurance, healthcare, or telecommunications
