Description

Ocean Infinity is seeking a Senior QA Engineer to lead quality assurance for Unreal Engine and simulator development projects within their autonomous maritime robotics division. The role involves managing and mentoring a team of QA engineers, developing QA strategies and methodologies, and ensuring high-quality standards across cutting-edge autonomous technology software products. The position is based in London with a salary of £95,000 per annum.

Responsibilities

Mentor and manage a team of QA engineers, providing guidance and support to create a high-performing quality-focused team
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure the software development life cycle includes thorough testing and adheres to industry quality standards
Develop and implement QA strategies and methodologies, ensuring test plans, processes, and reporting tools are optimized for manual and automated testing
Oversee the development of test strategies, audit processes, and quality management practices that support continuous improvement
Foster a culture of quality by evangelizing QA best practices and identifying areas for process improvements
Track project progress, measure team performance, and ensure QA initiatives align with broader organizational objectives and product goals
Conduct performance reviews, coaching, and career development for QA team members
Communicate and collaborate with stakeholders to translate QA-related insights into actionable plans

Requirements

At least 3 years of experience in testing Unreal Engine applications
Proven experience in leading and managing testing activities
Experience with testing lifecycle tools such as X-ray
Extensive knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes
Strong expertise in various types of software QA testing
Proven experience in complex agile software development projects
Ability to derive and execute tests from complex technical concepts and requirements
Strong knowledge of test writing techniques and the creation of test artefacts
Excellent communication skills in English, both spoken and written
Proficiency in using version control systems
Experience with tools such as Jenkins and Azure DevOps
Familiarity with Jira and Confluence
Knowledge of test automation and automation tools/frameworks
