Description

Swiss Re is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer specializing in test automation to join their cloud-native (Azure-based) SaaS/PaaS product engineering team serving global Life & Health insurance clients. The role involves ownership of the automation strategy across product lines, designing and evolving scalable test automation frameworks, and integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines together with DevOps and cloud teams. The position is based in Madrid with a hybrid work model and offers a transparent base salary range plus a performance-based bonus.

Responsibilities

Contribute hands-on in QA initiatives to ensure high-quality deliverables for end-clients
Identify, report, and troubleshoot defects in collaboration with development teams
Design, develop, and continuously improve scalable test automation frameworks and suites across multiple product lines under L&H solutions
Integrate test automation tools including build verification systems, IDE plugins, and linting programs to optimize testing efficiency
Write and enforce test automation scripts following defined internal coding standards to ensure consistency and maintainability
Collaborate with DevOps and cloud teams to integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines and ensure infrastructure reliability

Requirements

Hands-on experience in test automation with strong familiarity in CI/CD pipelines and continuous testing practices
Proven experience leading the standardization and unification of QA processes, methodologies, and best practices across Agile teams
Strong understanding of test automation frameworks across UI, API, integration, and database layers
Hands-on experience with UI test automation using Playwright and Cypress
Hands-on experience with API testing and automation using REST Assured (Java), Postman or Bruno
Strong QA experience with a solid background in Enterprise Java technologies
Strong experience in regression, integration, compatibility, and end-to-end testing
Good understanding of testing methodologies including functional, integration, regression, end-to-end, performance, and non-functional testing
Working knowledge of performance and load testing concepts with K6, JMeter or similar tools
Experience working with CI/CD platforms such as Azure DevOps
Ability to perform QA testing across both front-end and back-end components of applications

Conditions

Hybrid work model with minimum 50% office presence in Madrid
Performance-based bonus in addition to base salary
