Description

Moderna is hiring a Software Engineer for its international business services hub in Warsaw to strengthen its global platform engineering capabilities. The role focuses on building developer tooling, CI/CD pipelines and AWS infrastructure as code, and on embedding AI assistance into developer workflows. It is a high-growth position requiring 5+ years of software or platform engineering experience and strong TypeScript/JavaScript or Python skills. Moderna operates a 70/30 in-office work model and offers a broad global benefits package.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain developer tooling such as AI agents, generators, libraries, templates, CLIs and services
Design, build and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines for fast, secure and reliable software delivery
Develop and manage AWS cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code
Implement and operate shared builder services that improve the developer and DevOps experience
Enable AI-assisted development by integrating MCP-style capabilities and embedding AI into developer workflows
Partner with application engineers to identify friction points and deliver scalable platform solutions
Write high-quality, production-grade code and automation in TypeScript/JavaScript and Python
Support application teams with infrastructure for services, environments and deployment workflows
Improve platform reliability, observability and developer experience through automation and scalable system design
Contribute to documentation, engineering standards and best practices

Requirements

BS/BA degree in Computer Science with 5+ years of relevant work experience
5+ years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering or a closely related role
Strong programming skills in TypeScript/JavaScript or Python
Hands-on experience building and operating solutions in AWS
Experience creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for production systems
Interest or familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code to provision and manage cloud resources
Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals: testing, code review, version control and system design
Ability to work across application and platform boundaries to solve developer productivity and delivery problems
Proficiency in English (verbal and/or written) required due to global collaboration needs
