Description

A European second-hand fashion marketplace is hiring a Staff Product Designer for its Marketplace product design leadership team. The role owns the core marketplace experience — how people discover, list, buy, and sell — and is accountable for projects that land measurable impact. The designer raises the design bar, coaches ICs, helps other functions think like designers, and makes AI-powered ways of working real for the team. It is a hybrid role based in Berlin with a gross annual salary of €108 800–€147 200.

Responsibilities

Be accountable for projects that land measurable impact and define what the right work is
Raise the capability of ICs through pair work, critique, and direct coaching
Help other functions think like designers so PMs and engineers reference design principles
Drive how design standards evolve and own the bar as context changes
Make AI-powered ways of working real for the team through experiments, systematisation and communication
Turn ambiguous signals into investable opportunities and move senior stakeholders to commit
Produce work that is above the current team bar
Earn the trust of senior leaders through sound judgment and clear narratives

Requirements

Strong proven experience (typically 10+ years) of product design for consumer-scale digital products
Marketplace experience is a strong plus
A portfolio that shows taste, judgment, and shipped impact
Hands-on with AI in the actual workflow: design, prototyping, automation
Sharp eye for quality and knowing when the last 1% matters
Steady and comfortable with ambiguity, knowing when to go deep and when to ship
Ability to move work forward without being asked, comfortable doing as well as directing
A strong point of view and the ability to adjust it
Experience changing how an organisation works, not just what it shipped
