Philips Personal Health is hiring a Director, Creative Excellence to set the direction, standards and practices that make creative work more distinctive and commercially effective at scale. The role sits within CXE and connects Business Units and Regions, building the governance, insight and technology needed to develop and activate stronger work. The Director also works within the AI Gameplan Squad to bring AI and emerging tools into creative development, quality and speed. The position is based in Amsterdam and offers a transparent base salary range plus a short-term incentive.
Responsibilities
Define, embed and evolve Personal Health global standards for Creative Excellence for Business Units and Regions
Establish clear principles for creative quality, consumer relevance, brand distinctiveness, channel fit, adaptation and effectiveness
Strengthen the quality of creative strategy, briefing and evaluation across Business Units and Regions
Create a common vocabulary, practical tools and measures to plan, assess and improve creative work
Establish effective review practices and forums that raise the creative bar and address shared barriers
Balance global consistency with the flexibility required by different categories, consumers and markets
Inspire and enable stronger creative expression across the organisation
Develop practical guidance, tools and experiences that strengthen creative development from insight through to adaptation
Champion excellence in creative craft across channels and formats
Work with internal partners, including the academy, to raise creative standards and build marketer and agency capabilities
Work within the AI Gameplan Squad to identify opportunities for AI and emerging tools in creative development
Partner with Business Units, Regions and the Personal Health Media team to understand creative performance
Connect creative-quality, consumer, media and commercial insight to identify what drives stronger marketing outcomes
Turn connected performance insight into practical learning for future creative and activation decisions
Establish a clear learning agenda and regular drumbeat to share examples and best practice
Amplify the best work and learnings, building external visibility on platforms such as Cannes Lions
Requirements
Proven track record of creating or leading breakthrough creative work that builds brands and delivers commercial impact
Significant experience in senior creative, brand, integrated communications or marketing leadership roles within a complex, international organisation
Ability to set a clear creative ambition and translate it into practical standards and consistent ways of working across teams and markets
Strong stakeholder-management and influencing skills with credibility to align senior leaders, specialist partners and agencies
Experience using creative, consumer, media and commercial performance insight to improve marketing decisions
Practical understanding of modern creative development, production, adaptation and the potential of AI
Strong commercial judgement, excellent communication skills and a collaborative, action-oriented leadership style
Conditions
Base salary range €93,049.00 - €155,081.00
Eligible for 6% on-target Short Term Incentive linked to individual and company performance
Office-based teams work in-person at least 3 days per week
