Description

Lumia is a U.S.-based AI recruiting startup building a platform where AI agents handle hiring end to end — finding, screening, interviewing candidates and helping companies make hires. The company has 11 U.S. clients and initial investment. They are looking for a founding engineer to take full ownership of product engineering and architecture, with a path to equity and CTO role.

Responsibilities

Fully own Lumia's development and architecture
Personally write and review code
Actively use and manage AI coding agents in development workflow
Develop and strengthen the existing hiring platform
Ship new features quickly for real customers
Eventually build and lead the engineering team

Requirements

Strong backend engineer with solid fundamentals and many years of experience
Has personally launched and maintained production products
Hands-on developer, not just a manager or architect
Modern engineer who actively uses AI coding agents and controls quality of its output
Startup mindset with high speed, full ownership, and no fear of uncertainty

Conditions

In-person work in Almaty, 6 days a week, approximately 10–12 hours per day
Equity participation in the company with path to CTO role
Mentoring from advisor who helped create Google Gemini
Work directly with the founder
