Description
Sage is building the trust layer for modern commerce and is hiring a Product Manager to own the Business Identity Platform — the canonical data foundation every Sage product depends on. The role owns the roadmap and execution for verification, digital signing and seals, global identifier and data-linking strategy, and KYB onboarding flows at global scale. It involves defining the global entity model, reusable verification APIs, and data quality standards while balancing regulatory compliance across 20+ countries. This is a hybrid role based in the Barcelona office.
Responsibilities
Own Business Identity, including verification, digital signing and seals, the global identifier and data-linking strategy, and KYB onboarding flows
Design the global entity model with canonical data structures such as entity identifiers, actor roles, attribute schemas, and verification evidence
Build reusable verification capabilities as stateless APIs for entity resolution, actor authority verification, and attribute validation
Translate regulatory and business requirements into data design together with compliance, legal, fintech, and in-country teams
Manage data quality, reconciliation, and evidence integrity, including an immutable evidence chain for every claim
Define the consumption experience for internal product teams through well-documented APIs, SDKs, and adoption patterns
Balance platform stability with regulatory change without destabilising the platform or forcing rewrites of dependent products
Build alignment across a matrixed organisation and secure buy-in from legal, compliance, and fintech leadership
Requirements
A track record of owning data platforms, identity systems, or foundational products where reliable, reusable data is the core asset
Confident reasoning about entity relationships, data schemas, master data management, immutable audit trails, and event-driven architectures
Strong platform PM mindset: designing for adoption across internal teams and managing dependencies and breaking changes
Exceptional communication and influence across technical and non-technical audiences without direct authority
Proven ability to navigate ambiguity and ship products where requirements weren't fully defined
Ability to translate platform value into commercial concepts and speak in business outcomes
Nice to have: experience with identity or data platforms, graph databases, entity resolution, or master data management
Nice to have: multi-country or multi-jurisdiction product complexity
Nice to have: fintech, payments, or banking product experience
Nice to have: familiarity with eIDAS, Verifiable Credentials, or decentralised identity standards
Conditions

Fully funded medical and dental insurance
Flexible benefits with tax savings on meal and transport vouchers, childcare, and training
Flexibility of working one hour in, one hour out, with shortened workdays on Fridays and during the summer
