Description
MIGx AG, a life sciences consultancy, is seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer to join their Data and AI Engineering team. The role involves owning test strategy end-to-end, building automated regression suites with Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress integrated into CI, and performing API-level testing. Strong documentation and traceability skills are required due to the regulated nature of the life sciences domain. This is a hybrid role based in Barcelona with a flexible working schedule.
Responsibilities
Own test strategy end-to-end for features and releases, defining scope from specs and user stories, designing and executing test plans with minimal oversight
Build and maintain automated regression suites (Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress) integrated into CI, plus API-level tests (Postman, pytest + requests)
Reproduce and document bugs at request/response level using browser developer tools, including session, token, and cookie issues in authenticated flows
Raise, triage, and track defects with clear severity classification and drive them through to resolution
Coordinate regression testing cycles and UAT with business stakeholders ahead of releases
Produce documentation including process runbooks, incident reports with root cause and timeline, and test strategy documents for stakeholder sign-off
Collaborate with developers, product, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into testable acceptance criteria
Apply traceability and version-control discipline expected in a regulated environment
Requirements
Test planning and execution end-to-end from specs or user stories with minimal guidance, including scope definition, traceable test cases, and release sign-off
Test automation with Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress, building and maintaining regression suites integrated into CI
API testing with Postman or pytest + requests, validating endpoints independently of UI
Browser developer tools proficiency (Network, Console, Elements) for reproducing and documenting bugs at request/response level including sessions, tokens, and cookies
Strong written documentation skills across process docs, incident reports, and test strategy documents with attention to traceability and version control
Track record owning test plans across multiple projects from requirements to test sign-off with minimal guidance
Agile experience with Scrum or Kanban, team-first mindset
SQL for querying databases to verify backend state and test results
Domain knowledge of clinical trial data, healthcare analytics, or regulated industry datasets
Familiarity with Computer System Validation (CSV), IQ/OQ/PQ protocols, 21 CFR Part 11, and deviation/CAPA processes
Git/version control for collaborative development projects
Cloud platforms experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP
Understanding of GxP compliance or other regulated industry standards
