Description

HID is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to develop Java Card Applets for secure transactions and identity management. The role involves scripting for production, applet development, and compliance with security standards like ISO and EMV. The candidate will work with embedded systems and cryptographic operations in a global context.

Responsibilities

Design and maintain scripting routines supporting production and personalization workflows.
Work closely with operations and solutions team to ensure seamless integration into production environments.
Identify solutions contributing to overall manufacturing process improvements.
Contribute to JavaCard applets development that meet functional specifications and security requirements.
Implement and validate APDU command processing for smart-card communication.
Partner with security architects to ensure alignment with relevant standards (ISO/IEC 7816, GlobalPlatform, EMV).
Optimize performance and memory usage for highly constrained embedded environments.
Produce clear technical documentation and contribute to certification activities.
Participate in code reviews and help drive continuous improvement across the development process.

Requirements

Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C#, or Java.
Understanding of Java language and its limitations in JavaCard.
Hands-on experience with .Net, .NetCore, HTML, JSON, XML.
Familiarity with APDU protocol and card-reader communication.
Experience with cryptographic libraries and secure coding practices.
Proficiency with development tools such as Microsoft Visual Studio, VS Code, git/bitbucket.
Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and test automation frameworks like Robot Framework.
Ability to handle priorities well and stay organized in a dynamic environment.
Must demonstrate analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field with specialization in Embedded Systems.
Minimum 3+ years of professional experience in software development.
Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
