Description
A robotics and AI company is looking for a Senior QA Engineer to build and own the testing backbone that enables safe, high-velocity development of AI systems operating in the physical world. The engineer acts as the control layer between rapid AI development and real-world deployment, ensuring systems remain stable and trustworthy in unpredictable environments. Core work includes owning the CI/CD pipeline, designing hardware-in-the-loop testing, scaling human-in-the-loop QA processes, and maintaining test strategies across software, models, and field deployments. The role is based in Munich and targets engineers with 5+ years of experience in QA for complex hardware-software systems.

Responsibilities
Own and continuously improve the CI/CD pipeline, enabling automated and confident deployments of software and models
Monitor test outcomes and evaluation reports to drive system quality and stability
Design and implement hardware-in-the-loop testing in collaboration with engineering teams
Define and scale human-in-the-loop QA processes with operations for model validation
Build simulation-based regression tests with ML and simulation teams using physics-based environments
Write and maintain comprehensive test strategies and plans across software, models, and field deployments
Take ownership of the overall testing infrastructure end-to-end
Requirements
MSc or PhD in a relevant technical field
5+ years of experience in QA, Test Engineering, or Systems Integration for complex hardware-software systems, ideally robotics or similar domains
Proven track record in robotics, autonomous systems, aerospace, automotive, medical devices, or advanced industrial automation
Strong experience with non-deterministic or probabilistic systems and real-world validation challenges
Expertise in building and scaling automated testing infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines
Advanced technical stack: Python, Linux, testing frameworks, containerization, and version control (Git)
Experience mentoring engineers or contributing to technical leadership and team growth
Solid understanding of AI and robotics systems (nice to have)
Experience with ROS, simulators, or C++ (nice to have)
Exposure to simulation-based testing or hardware-in-the-loop systems (nice to have)
