Description
International software company specializing in service management is hiring a Senior UX Researcher for its Delft office. The role owns research direction across product domains and partners with UX Designers, Product Managers, and Engineers. It requires independently designing and executing complex qualitative and quantitative studies and synthesizing insights for product strategy.
Responsibilities
Own research direction across one or more product domains, identify critical knowledge gaps, and translate them into research questions and study plans
Design and execute complex qualitative and quantitative research independently, helping product teams understand user behaviors, needs, and pain points before solutions are defined
Synthesize insights across multiple studies and sources to identify broader patterns and strategic product opportunities
Bring clarity to decisions made by teams and leadership, ensuring they are grounded in strong evidence and a clear reading of trade-offs
Translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations that reveal patterns and shape product direction
Collaborate with relevant product teams and management on research implications and decision trade-offs, align research across the product domain, and navigate competing stakeholder priorities
Provide feedback to junior researchers and other product colleagues such as designers or Product Managers, reviewing their work for quality
Improve research practices, standards, and ResearchOps activities within the team
Evaluate and apply new research methods and AI-supported research techniques responsibly
Regularly engage with stakeholders across product, design, and leadership to communicate findings and build organizational research maturity
Requirements
5+ years of professional experience in UX research in medior or senior capacity
Successfully planned and led complex end-to-end UX research studies with multiple stakeholders or user groups
Bachelor's, master's, or Ph.D. degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Human Factors, Cognitive Science, Social Sciences, Anthropology, Design, or related field; equivalent practical research experience accepted
Ability to work independently on complex research challenges involving multiple studies and stakeholders
Strong command of both qualitative and quantitative research methods and knowing when and how to apply them
Skilled at synthesizing findings across studies to surface broader patterns and strategic product opportunities
Ability to bring clarity to complex decisions and help teams and leadership act confidently on evidence
Experience mentoring researchers or improving shared research practices and workflows
Integrate AI tools into research workflows where they improve efficiency without reducing quality, and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs
Strong communication skills and ability to present findings clearly to direct teams and wider audiences
Proactive mindset and drive for continuous improvement in research practice
Fluent (C1) in English
Preferred: fluent (C1) in either German or Dutch
Nice to have: foundational UX research training or certification, e.g. Nielsen Norman Group (NN/g), UXPA, or CPUX
