Description

The University of Surrey is seeking a Project Lead to join the Chief Student Office and lead cross-directorate and university-wide projects focused on enhancing the student experience. The role covers operational planning, performance management, continuous improvement, and digital/service transformation within the Business Improvement department. It is a fixed-term, full-time position based in Guildford with flexible working and work-from-home opportunities.

Responsibilities

Lead cross-directorate and university-wide projects to enhance the student experience
Lead operational and cross-functional activities including planning and performance management
Provide oversight of business delivery across all functions of the Directorate
Work with the wider management team to deliver flexible and robust projects and process improvements
Drive continuous improvement of department key operations ensuring future-proofing
Horizon-scan and understand demands from within and outside the Directorate

Requirements

Excellent communication and influencing skills across an organisation
Ability to establish credibility with staff and key stakeholders
Comfortable working on multiple projects concurrently with complexity and uncertainty
Passion for student experience and student-centred decision making
Experience in leading cross-functional or cross-directorate projects
Track record in operational planning and performance management

Conditions

Full Time position with fixed-term contract
Salary range £47,389 to £56,535
Up to 40 days holiday (25 annual leave + 7 university days + bank holidays)
