Description

A digital transformation services company founded in 2015 and part of a global group operating in 25+ countries is looking for an Android TV developer. The role covers the evolution and maintenance of OTT video and streaming applications: feature development, video player integration, streaming protocols and DRM, plus performance optimization across Android TV devices. The work spans the full development cycle including testing, debugging and production release.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain applications for Android TV using Kotlin and Android SDK
Implement new features and take part in the evolution of OTT video and streaming applications
Integrate REST APIs and external services for content retrieval and management
Work on the integration and optimization of video players
Implement and maintain features related to streaming content playback
Collaborate on the integration of streaming protocols such as HLS and MPEG-DASH
Participate in the implementation and management of DRM systems for audiovisual content protection
Analyze and resolve technical issues related to playback, performance and application stability
Optimize application performance and ensure compatibility with different Android TV devices
Participate in code reviews and apply development best practices
Collaborate with other technical profiles and multidisciplinary teams throughout the development cycle
Participate in testing, debugging and production release of developed features

Requirements

Experience developing applications for Android TV
Strong knowledge of Kotlin
Experience working with Android SDK
Experience integrating and consuming REST APIs
Knowledge of the development, debugging and maintenance lifecycle of Android applications
Ability to analyze and solve technical problems
Experience with version control systems, preferably Git
Previous experience in OTT, video on demand (VOD) or streaming projects (valued)
Knowledge and integration of video players (valued)
Experience with streaming protocols such as HLS and MPEG-DASH (valued)
Knowledge of DRM systems such as Widevine (valued)
Experience optimizing video playback and performance on Android TV devices (valued)
Knowledge of different manufacturers and devices based on Android TV (valued)
Experience with testing tools and agile methodologies (valued)
