Description

A leading educational SaaS platform for teachers is looking for a senior Platform Automation Engineer to own core GCP production infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines and per-PR ephemeral environments, radically shortening the time between writing code and knowing whether it works. The role centers on infrastructure, DevOps and platform engineering: tackling technical debt, managing cloud resources and ensuring production reliability. The focus is platform enablement and test infrastructure operations rather than authoring daily QA tests. The position is based at the office in The Hague

Responsibilities

Own and evolve core GCP production infrastructure, tackle pending technical debt and manage cloud resources
Ensure production systems are secure, performant, cost-effective and built to scale
Architect and manage per-PR ephemeral environments for fast, isolated testing and QA review
Own the operation and execution of testing frameworks (Playwright, Jest, Cucumber) in CI
Wire tests into ephemeral environments, optimise parallelisation and reduce flakiness for trustworthy feedback
Streamline build, test and deployment pipelines to minimise developer wait times and establish robust release mechanisms
Provide APIs, data-preparation tools and CI/CD integrations that developers and QA need for their own test suites

Requirements

8+ years of experience primarily focused in a Platform, DevOps, or SRE role, with a track record of setting up developer tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and managing production cloud infrastructure
Strong proficiency with GCP (Google Cloud Platform) and infrastructure-as-code (IaC)
Prior experience with Terraform is a plus
Fluency in operating and scaling E2E testing frameworks like Playwright and Jest within CI pipelines
Familiarity with Cucumber for BDD and Storybook is a plus
Comfort working with GraphQL APIs and MongoDB databases
At least 2 years experience as a senior
Capable of working independently
Data-driven and pragmatic decision-maker

Conditions

Resident in NL, fully remote work or relocation is not possible
A fantastic job at our office in The Hague, with the flexibility to work from home occasionally
A work week of 32, 36 or 40 hours a week, whatever you prefer
A laptop
NS business card or €0,25 per km
Personal Learning & Development Budget
Unlimited access to OpenUp to work on your mental health
Retirement savings with ASR
Free lunch at the office
