Description

Schwarz Digits, the IT and digital division of the Schwarz Group, develops IT infrastructures for Lidl and Kaufland and delivers Cloud, Cyber Security, Data & AI, Communication and Workspace services. The company is hiring a QA Engineer to work at the intersection of agility and security with fast decision-making processes and genuine creative freedom. The role owns testing strategy within a multidisciplinary international squad, covering test preparation, automation, execution and reporting from feature conception to production deployment.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain reliable automated test suites for web applications, mobile app and microservices aligned with business requirements
Collaborate actively within a multidisciplinary international Squad of Developers, DevOps, UX/UI, Tech Lead, Product Owner and Product Manager towards continuous delivery and high quality
Take ownership of testing strategy within the squad, managing test preparation, execution, and reporting from feature conception to production deployment
Perform end-to-end API testing (RESTful services), ensuring functional accuracy, performance, and data integrity
Implement and execute Behavior-Driven Development (BDD)
Build and maintain web and app automation scripts using modern tools like Playwright and Selenium
Champion quality assurance best practices and integration of automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
Identify, document, and track software defects, working closely with developers to ensure fast and efficient resolution

Requirements

3+ years of experience working as a Quality Assurance / Test Automation Engineer
Native team player capable of working effectively within small, heterogeneous, agile international teams
Fluency in both English and Spanish (written and spoken) to communicate within an international team
Outstanding QA soft skills: critical thinking, meticulous attention to detail, constructive communication and empathy when delivering feedback or documenting defects
Solid hands-on experience in API Testing (REST APIs) using tools like Postman, Bruno, or code-based libraries such as Requests, RestAssured, Robot Framework
Proven expertise in Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) using Behave or similar Gherkin-based frameworks like Cucumber/SpecFlow
Strong practical experience in Web UI Automation using Playwright and/or Selenium
Good skills in a programming language suitable for automation test frameworks (Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or C#)
Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, Jenkins) and integrating automated tests into deployment flows
Proactive and growth-oriented mindset, an eager learner passionate about continuously advancing QA skills and exploring new testing tools
Deep understanding of QA methodologies, test design techniques, bug life cycle management, and Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban)
A hands-on mindset with ownership of quality and test execution from planning to release
