Description

European fintech building a leading finance workspace with banking at its core is hiring a Senior Full-Stack Engineer for the Identity Verification team. The role is about 60% backend, mostly Ruby with some Go, while React covers the web surface. The core goal is turning the KYC flow into a provider-agnostic service and improving conversion from KYC started to KYC submission.

Responsibilities

Make identity verification provider-agnostic by replacing the tightly coupled solution with one shared service, mostly Ruby (90%) with some Go (10%)
Improve KYC conversion working across backend and web on the path from KYC started to KYC submission
Own the web side of provider integrations: load provider SDKs in the browser, handle their errors and keep the web part running as usage scales
Handle provider failures and retries, improve observability and help operate integrations safely in production
Design the layer that makes several verification providers interchangeable and untangle today's tightly coupled solution
Build reliable APIs that other teams can depend on, with Security potentially following KYC as an internal customer

Requirements

Backend experience: built and run backend services in production, and comfortable being backend-first
Shipped production web code with React and able to handle maintenance and scaling work on an existing application
Integrated external providers or SDKs and know how to design so that a single provider doesn't lock you in
Range across the stack: own changes across backend and web, partnering with a staff web engineer on architecture and complex integrations
Ruby experience is a plus, not a requirement — or the will to learn it

Conditions

Full-remote mode available as long as you live in France, Italy, Germany, Serbia or Spain
An onboarding buddy from week two and a weekly one-to-one with your manager
Unlimited access to the best AI tools for every employee
Platform work with real users whose effect shows in conversion numbers
