Description

An AI coding platform is hiring a Senior Product Designer for its small senior design team. The product spans a CLI coding agent, desktop app, IDE extensions and an inference/spend console used by engineers and platform teams. The designer will own problems end-to-end — from research through shipped design — and influence product strategy. This is a remote-first role for candidates residing in selected European countries.

Responsibilities

Own problems end-to-end across CLI, desktop app, inference and spend console, or developer tooling from research to shipped design
Lead user research initiatives independently: plan, run, synthesize and turn findings into product cases
Prototype in code where it is faster than Figma using AI-assisted workflows
Bring a point of view to product strategy conversations backed by product usage, research evidence and competitor awareness
Participate in cross-squad design reviews to catch overlap early and raise the quality bar
Track design debt in the area and push to prioritize it when risk or feedback makes it urgent

Requirements

Portfolio or case study showing senior-level design work on developer tools, AI/LLM products, coding agents or technical data-heavy SaaS platforms
Track record of owning research end-to-end and using it to influence product direction
Comfort working directly with AI-assisted development workflows such as Claude Code and Cursor, staying hands-on with the codebase
Ability to operate with a strong point of view under ambiguity and defend decisions without a fixed process
Experience designing for technical engineering-savvy users and discussing APIs, architecture and system constraints with engineers
Strong async communication — writing short clear documents as convincingly as speaking in meetings
Experience designing CLI or terminal-based interfaces
Familiarity with desktop app design
Experience presenting design and research findings to executive stakeholders

Conditions

Flexible, remote-first global environment
Equity options
Most feature projects are completed in 1 to 4 weeks
10% of work time on personal projects or self-improvement
Learning budget including access to international conferences and courses
Annual hackathon to spark new ideas
Team-building budget and company events
Equipment budget
Extra days off to maintain work-life balance
