Fixed-term contract

Description

A six month fixed term contract for an Agile Project Manager owning planning and delivery of a UGC news and information app. The role reports to the Head of Product and works closely with designers, in-house engineers and an external development partner. The roadmap covers launching monetization and Android, growing the creator community and shipping retention features to find product-market fit.

Responsibilities

Turn the product roadmap into a dated delivery plan, with milestones, dependencies and risks mapped out
Run sprint ceremonies — sprint goals, prioritization, capacity planning, kick-offs, daily stand-ups and retrospectives — and track velocity from sprint to sprint
Set and hold deadlines, manage dev assignments, and keep design and development moving in step
Take part in regular roadmapping and product strategy sessions with product, design and lead developers
Review design work against the brief before it reaches engineering, flagging missing states, annotations or edge cases
Break features down into sprint-sized user stories with clear testable acceptance criteria covering edge cases and error states
Groom and prioritize the backlog with the Head of Product at least once per sprint
Coordinate each app release, including release checklists, TestFlight and Play Store testing rounds and go/no-go reviews
Review how sprints, design, development and Asana boards currently run, and put improvements in place
Keep Asana accurate and up to date, so anyone in the business can see where things stand

Requirements

Technical project management, delivery management or scrum master experience
Have helped ship consumer mobile apps on iOS and Android
Comfortable reading technical specs and talking through API integrations and trade-offs with engineers
Knows the App Store and Play Store release process, including TestFlight and staged rollouts
Can tell when a Figma file is ready for development, and when it is missing states, annotations or edge cases
Writes tickets that engineers can pick up — sprint-sized, testable and with clear acceptance criteria
Fluent in Asana or a similar tool, organized and detail-minded in a fast-moving environment
Big-picture thinking: enjoy strategizing with the product team and keeping everyone aligned
Scrum or Agile certification (CSM, PSM or similar) would be a bonus
Experience with news, media, creator or UGC products would be a bonus
Familiarity with tools like Customer.io and Monday.com would be a bonus
QA and test planning experience would be a bonus

Conditions

Five months of parental leave at 90% pay for all parents regardless of gender
Private health insurance, including cover for pre-existing conditions
25 days of annual leave
NOMAD week: work from anywhere for one week each year
Option to request up to two additional weeks of unpaid leave
4% employer pension contribution matched by a 4% employee contribution through Penfold
Access to an onsite gym, with classes available five days a week
Cycle to Work scheme and commuter loans
