Description

The company builds the next generation of technology for the specialty (re)insurance market and recently raised $45M in Series B funding. We are hiring a Quality Engineer to own test automation across the product platform, starting with the Platform suite and later extending into Transform/customer-configuration testing. The role covers consolidating an existing suite of roughly 680 Playwright tests, building coverage and reliability metrics, scaling the CI pipeline and mentoring QA Engineers.

Responsibilities

Reorganise and consolidate the existing ~680-test Playwright suite, removing duplication, fixing flaky tests and establishing clear structure and naming conventions
Build trustworthy metrics: coverage mapped to actual product routes and features, pass/fail trends and flaky-test tracking
Own the suite as a living asset — add new automated coverage as features ship and maintain existing tests
Work with QA Lead and Engineering on a real scaling plan for the CI pipeline (Buildkite) within resource limits
Clarify automation boundaries between platform tests and FDE golden tests, aligning performance testing into the same reporting picture
Support QA Engineers with automation — help them write and troubleshoot tests and build their confidence
Integrate automated test results into the wider test management approach with structured bug reports linked to Linear
Agree a documented handover and ongoing collaboration model with Engineering to avoid duplicated effort
Build Transform/customer-configuration automation from scratch where no automated coverage exists today

Requirements

Strong hands-on experience building and owning test automation frameworks at scale, not just writing individual automated tests
Deep experience with Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium, including framework design and CI/CD integration
Comfortable working in or around a codebase — reading and reasoning about application code
Experience diagnosing and resolving flaky or unreliable automated tests
Experience establishing test coverage visibility and reporting from scratch where none previously existed
A methodical, standards-driven approach — you think about frameworks and patterns, not just individual test cases

Conditions

Private medical insurance
Income protection insurance and life insurance of 4× base salary
On-site gym and shower facilities
Enhanced maternity and paternity pay
Generous holiday allowance of 28 days plus national holidays
Home office and equipment allowance, and a company MacBook
Learning allowance and leave to attend conferences or take exams
Company stock options
Team social events and company parties
Salary exchange on pension and nursery fees
