Description

Freenow by Lyft is hiring a Senior Data Analyst to join its Data Operations team and collaborate with operational squads across European markets. The role focuses on championing data-driven decisions: querying the data lake with SQL, automating data processes, deep-dive analysis in Python, adjusting ETL tasks and building dashboards. Candidates combine strong analytical technical skills with curiosity about AI and LLMs in analytics. The position is based in Hamburg, Berlin or Barcelona.

Responsibilities

Focus on analysing and presenting recommendations, process changes and new initiatives to management using insights derived from data
Query data via SQL from the data lake and adjust ETL tasks
Automate data processes and perform deep dive analysis in Python
Champion new insights through analyses, dashboards and storytelling
Develop monitoring tools to measure performance and help the business achieve its objectives
Create queries to answer operational and business questions across operational teams to support decisions
Communicate results in a clear and impactful manner

Requirements

Degree Level or higher in an analytical discipline such as Engineering, Computer Science or Economics
5+ years of experience in an analytical role
Curiosity to answer why things happened with well-founded actionable results rather than surface-level answers
Curiosity about AI and its practical applications in analytics, including experience with LLMs or AI-powered tools
Excellent technical skills including SQL knowledge and python or R
Familiarity with visualisation tools, with Metabase being a particular plus
Ability to think on your feet, work independently and proactively with others to find solutions
Understanding of how to engage and influence decision makers with excellent communication skills
Excellent written and spoken English
