Description

A central technology hub powering Germany's leading news apps is hiring a Senior QA Manager for its mobile apps team. The role owns QA strategy and execution end to end, driving scalable manual and automated testing across Android and iOS products. The manager mentors QA engineers and working students, evolves test plans and automation frameworks, and ships high-quality features through a Scrum process. The position is permanent, full- or part-time, based in Berlin.

Responsibilities

Owning the QA strategy and execution end to end to shape the app development process
Driving innovation across mobile apps through scalable manual and automated testing
Supporting QA engineers and working students as a mentor and sparring partner while fostering team growth
Collaborating with developers, product owners, and designers to deliver high-quality features through the Scrum process
Designing and evolving test plans, test cases, and automation frameworks to ensure stability and scalability
Identifying, tracking, and helping resolve bugs and issues in Jira
Safeguarding product quality through comprehensive regression, integration, and end-to-end testing
Monitoring and optimizing app performance using Charles Proxy, Crashlytics, and analytics platforms

Requirements

Deep expertise in mobile app quality assurance, test automation, and agile leadership as a seasoned QA Manager
Hands-on experience in Appium, TestSigma, or similar frameworks, integrating test automation into CI/CD pipelines
Practical experience in manual testing, creating test cases and maintaining clear documentation
Confident and effective application of Scrum methodologies within agile environments
Ease with Jira, Charles Proxy, and test management systems in QA processes
Strong communicator who fosters collaboration across teams and supports others through mentoring
Fluent written and spoken English for an international environment, German is a plus but not required
