Description

London-based graphic design research lab building state-of-the-art image generation models and tools for designers, illustrators and marketers. The company is hiring a copywriter who understands design from the inside to own how the product sounds, from tone of voice guidelines down to a button label. The role covers launch copy, SEO articles, UX writing inside the product, naming and scripts for motion video.

Responsibilities

Shape the tone of voice: develop and evolve the brand voice guidelines and make sure the brand sounds like itself in every channel
Write the launches: social posts, release announcements and launch copy for new models and features across X, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube and Discord
Write for the camera: scripts and copy for motion videos, tutorials, interviews and other storytelling formats
Join creative launches: contribute to special projects and campaigns with a focus on the words
Run the blog with search in mind: write and edit SEO articles that rank and are still worth reading
Write inside the product: work with product and design on UX copy, including onboarding, empty states, tooltips and feature descriptions
Name new models, features and products, and write the copy that introduces them
Use the product heavily: test new models before they ship, find what's interesting and write from first-hand experience

Requirements

Design background (graphic, brand, type, UI or editorial) with writing as the main craft, or years of working closely with designers and speaking fluent design
Excellent written English (C2 or equivalent): natural, idiomatic, ready-to-publish writing with a voice of your own
Work you can show: published articles, a blog or newsletter, social accounts you've run, or product copy you've shipped
Range: from a launch post to a 2,000-word article to a button label without losing the voice
Hands-on experience with AI tools used regularly, while the writing still doesn't sound like them
Curiosity about the design world: what designers are making, arguing about and struggling with
Nice to have: a personal blog, newsletter or Substack about design, type, visual culture or AI
Nice to have: SEO writing experience
Nice to have: UX writing or content design experience
Nice to have: naming experience
Nice to have: scriptwriting for video or motion
Nice to have: experience at a design tool, creative tech company or design studio

Conditions

Full-time employment
Fully remote work
Ownership of the voice of a product that designers use every day
Close work with design, product and the people who build the models
Room to experiment with formats, channels and ideas
Competitive salary with bonus potential tied to the performance review
Team culture of direct useful feedback, open context sharing and unprompted help
