Description

C Teleport is hiring an Engineering Manager (Team Lead) to lead the Back Office & Integrations squad, which connects the corporate travel automation platform to customers' planning, HR and finance systems. This is a hands-on leadership role: roughly half the week writing production code, half growing and managing the engineers. The squad works remotely across European time zones while the lead is based in the Rotterdam office, reporting directly to the CTO.

Responsibilities

Lead the Back Office & Integrations squad and own its technical direction from design decisions through implementation
Write production code and lead code reviews every week, spending roughly half your time in the code
Own the squad's delivery outcomes, ensuring reliable, complete solutions ship and follow through to production
Partner with the Product Owner to shape the roadmap and break work into incremental MVPs
Challenge estimates, surface risks early, and keep incidents and support tickets inside SLA
Enforce coding standards, reduce technical debt, and evaluate new technology with the Architects Group
Line-manage the engineers: run regular 1:1s, give direct feedback, and build each engineer's growth path
Own hiring for the squad: define the need, interview, and make the call
Own performance end-to-end, including addressing underperformance and managing someone out when needed
Set and hold the bar for how the squad works together and promote a culture of commitment

Requirements

Based in the Netherlands and able to work from the Rotterdam office 3 days per week (Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays); sponsorship only for candidates already living in the NL, no relocation from outside the country
7+ of your most recent years in software engineering with deep, current .NET / C# expertise as your active day-to-day stack
2+ years of current, full-scope people management as an Engineering Manager, personally running recurring 1:1s, hiring, and managing underperformance through to resolution including an exit
Written and merged production C# as part of your regular job in the last 6 months
Uses AI coding agents such as Claude Code or Cursor's agent mode as a daily driver, directing agentic workflows
Solid grasp of architectural patterns, SOLID, TDD, DDD, Event Sourcing and CQRS
Practical experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred) and message brokers (RabbitMQ or similar)
Hands-on experience with microservices and Docker
Nice to have: building and owning APIs, webhooks, or platform/integration products; connecting enterprise finance/HR/scheduling systems; driving external partner integrations to live deployment
Nice to have: experience with AWS or Kubernetes

Conditions

€7,000–8,000 gross per month, plus 8% holiday allowance
Role starts as a 12 months fixed-term contract, with a permanent contract offered once long-term collaboration is established
Hybrid working from the Rotterdam office three days a week; the squad works remotely across European time zones
Reports directly to the CTO
Hands-on technical leadership with significant ownership of a business-critical domain
Hiring process of roughly 2–3 weeks: recruiter call with an interactive technical assignment, technical challenge, meeting the CTO
Pre-employment screening through a trusted third party may be conducted
