Description

ZURU is looking for a product-driven engineer to own native mobile app development in Italy, building and shipping the company's consumer apps on iOS and Android. The engineer becomes the in-house reference for native app development, owning architecture, tooling, build and release pipelines and store submission, and quality-gating code produced by other developers or AI agents. The position is based in Milano under a hybrid, office-first policy with a permanent full-time contract. The compensation range is €38K–€48K per year.

Responsibilities

Design, build and ship native mobile apps for iOS (Swift) and Android (Kotlin), from first prototype to store release
Own the native mobile technology area: architecture, tooling, build and release pipelines, store submission
Review and quality-gate native code, including code generated with AI coding agents, and fix it when it goes wrong
Work directly with product designers and product owners to shape features, requirements and user experience
Rapidly prototype new product ideas and turn the successful ones into production-quality apps
Advise the wider team on native versus cross-platform trade-offs and on mobile best practices

Requirements

Solid, hands-on experience with native iOS development in Swift (SwiftUI / UIKit)
Working knowledge of native Android development in Kotlin
Strong product sense and the ability to work autonomously across the full lifecycle of an app
Daily, fluent use of AI coding tools and the judgement to critically review their output
Track record of building several apps end to end and publishing them on the App Store and Google Play
Nice to have: experience with React Native or other cross-platform frameworks and a clear view of when to use them
Nice to have: startup or founder experience, or having run own apps as a business
Nice to have: experience integrating apps with connected devices or hardware such as cameras and Bluetooth
Nice to have: familiarity with a Node.js backend stack

Conditions

Full-time permanent contract under CCNL Commercio e servizi
Hybrid work policy in ZURU Tech with office-first design and some flexibility depending on role, location and business needs
Work location is Milano, Italy
Compensation range €38K–€48K per year
Explicitly not a 9-to-5 role: fast pace and ambitious goal setting
The company states it may use AI tools to screen, assess or select applicants
