Description

The employer is hiring a Software Quality Engineer / QA Lead to build a high-quality QA process — test strategy, environments and tools, automation and release management — for a SaaS system covering web services, mobile apps and fiscal devices. The role involves designing technical and organizational solutions, coordinating the QA team and running version release processes. The software is built only for the company's own products, giving involvement across the full lifecycle from requirements through implementation to maintenance and further development.

Responsibilities

Design, implement and develop technical and organizational solutions for service verification
Design, maintain and evolve test strategies and plans based on functional and technical specifications
Ensure test coverage of functions and features across the whole system and its components (unit, integration, system, acceptance tests)
Cover functional and non-functional tests: performance, scalability, security, usability and reliability
Select and develop environments, tools and solutions for manual and automated testing
Design, implement and maintain solutions and processes for production release approvals of system components
Define and implement quality standards, processes and KPIs and report quality status to management
Create the concept and plan for building the test team and define required competencies
Provide expert supervision and coordinate the test team: plan tests, decompose tasks and review completed work
Execute tests independently, analyze results, report defects and confirm verified functionality
Cooperate with designers and developers on identifying root causes of bugs and preparing fixes
Select, onboard, set goals and evaluate test team members, support their competency development
Maintain release documentation: version registries, change and known-issue docs, test documentation and production approvals
Co-create and eventually lead the test team while owning QA process development and testing standards

Requirements

Minimum 5 years of experience in designing and executing tests of complex IT systems
Experience in defining and implementing quality assurance processes and quality metrics
Experience in designing and implementing test automation for web, mobile and physical device systems
Experience in software release management
Experience in building, recruiting, implementing or running a test team is a plus
Ability to create manual and automated test strategies, plans and scenarios from functional and technical specifications
Ability to select test scope and types based on project stage, risk and change scope
Ability to create and maintain test documentation and report test results
Ability to conduct technical alignments with project teams and other stakeholders
Ability to organize test team work, including decomposing test plans and assigning tasks
Proactive approach to improving testing processes, tools and methods
