Description

Databricks is hiring a Senior Product Designer to own design for an area of the Databricks Platform, spanning data engineering, analytics, databases, apps and AI agents. Designers combine strong visual craft with systems thinking and shape products for technical and business users of data. The role covers end-to-end ownership, from framing problems and setting design direction to shipped detail, with research-driven UX and a strong cross-platform design system.

Responsibilities

Own your area end to end, from framing and interaction models through visual polish and shipped detail
Set the quality bar and review work from designers, PM, engineering, and AI tools
Stay in regular contact with customers, choose research methods, and turn research into actionable insights
Define success for key user tasks and show improvement through usability testing and research
Move product and engineering decisions with prototypes and keep design reviews focused
Use interactive prototypes as a primary thinking tool to explore ambiguous problems and align the team
Design directly in the codebase with AI coding agents rather than handing off static mocks
Define reusable UX principles, interaction patterns, and a strong cross-platform design system
Give and invite high-quality feedback to raise the level of critique

A bachelor's or master's degree in design, computer science, human-computer interaction, or a related field
A portfolio demonstrating your end-to-end design process, from inception to production

A systems thinker with the vision to design the big picture and the tactical ability to break it down for engineering
A deep understanding of business goals, customer needs, emerging AI capabilities, and the evolving data and technology landscape
