Description

Leading supply chain compliance company in the Life Sciences industry, trusted by over 1,500 pharmaceutical and healthcare companies globally. The Team Lead Analytics will guide the analytics domain within the Business Intelligence team while staying hands-on with data models and the semantic layer. The mission is to build the path from raw data to trusted, self-service insights through dbt models, a Looker ecosystem, investor metrics and enriched CRM data. This is a player-coach role split equally between team leadership and direct technical contributions.

Responsibilities

Lead the Analytics vertical (analytics engineering, business analysis, CRM data) by setting priorities, coaching team members, fostering clear ownership, and ensuring high-quality delivery
Own the data modeling layer end-to-end by designing, building, and reviewing dbt models across a medallion architecture
Enrich the semantic model to keep Looker (LookML, explores, views) consistent, reliable, and optimized for self-service reporting
Govern investor reporting metrics, defining and reconciling them so every number reported to leadership and investors is accurate, traceable, and reproducible
Steer CRM data enrichment so cleaned customer and supplier records sync reliably with the data warehouse for commercial teams
Act as the bridge to the business, partnering with business analysts to gather and prioritize stakeholder requirements and translate business needs into data models, explores, and reports
Partner with Data Engineering on ingestion, pipeline reliability, warehouse architecture, and formal data contracts
Uphold technical excellence by establishing code/design reviews, dbt tests, CI/CD, data quality monitoring, and operational runbooks
Simplify, consolidate, or retire legacy models and introduce efficient tooling

Requirements

Several years of experience as an Analytics Engineer, with strong foundations in data modelling, SQL, and the modern data stack
Proven experience building and maintaining dbt models and transformation pipelines, including testing, documentation, CI, and Git-based workflows, ideally within a medallion architecture
Strong understanding of dimensional modelling, semantic layers, and metric governance
Experience defining and governing business metrics and reporting, with a strong focus on accuracy, reconciliation, and traceability; investor or board reporting experience is a plus
Familiarity with CRM systems such as HubSpot or Salesforce, and with how CRM data is modelled, enriched, and synced with a data warehouse
Strong business acumen and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate business questions into clear technical requirements and explain trade-offs to non-technical audiences
Demonstrated readiness for a player-coach role, ideally with experience leading a small data team, setting priorities, mentoring colleagues, and remaining hands-on through technical and design decisions and code reviews
Nice to have: experience with Looker (LookML, explores, and semantic-layer maintenance) or a comparable self-service BI tool, and working knowledge of Python for analytics workflows
