Description

The company builds software for municipalities, provinces and water boards in the Netherlands and Belgium, used by around 200 public organizations, so nothing goes live without testing. This QA Engineer owns test automation on an existing Playwright foundation, turning a single-person test pipeline into a robust, automated and transferable one. AI is applied as an accelerator for test cases, test data and script maintenance, and the role advises go/no-go for releases

Responsibilities

Set up an automated regression suite in Playwright and integrate it into the pipeline so every release is tested automatically
Document the test pipeline and teach colleagues to run and extend it
Manually test user stories and patches before release
Execute and record acceptance and integration tests
Sharpen acceptance criteria during refinement and determine which scenarios are critical for future releases
Run the AI experiment for testing covering test cases, test data and script maintenance with a measured effect
Report test results and risks to the team and the organization
Analyze application performance and propose improvements
Help Support analyze incident reports and test patches before rollout
Validate new functionality, investigate deviations with developers and decide which scenarios belong in the regression set
Build regression scenarios so they stay stable and run automatically with each release
Measure whether AI accelerates testing and advise go or no-go
Collaborate with the Quality & Scrum Lead who safeguards the test process and scrum rhythm

Requirements

Minimum of three years of experience with test automation, including demonstrably setting up a framework or regression set
Hands-on experience building test automation, preferably with Playwright
Ability to read code, query APIs and work with SQL
Accuracy: not releasing anything you cannot stand behind, even when the release is due tomorrow
Curiosity to apply AI to test cases, test data and script maintenance, measuring whether it works
Analytical mindset: tracing a failure to its root cause rather than its symptom
Experience working in Agile software development and Scrum
Knowledge of software quality assurance and software documentation
