Description

A profitable, bootstrapped AI company in Barcelona building a multilingual transcription platform and new agentic AI products. The Senior Product Engineer joins the Engagement pod, owning the web app plus mobile and desktop recording apps, with a product area of their own from day one. The role spans a Rails backend and React, React Native and Electron clients, prototyping with AI coding agents and growing the design system with a designer.

Responsibilities

Own Engagement features end to end across the Rails backend and React web, React Native mobile and Electron desktop apps
Decide with the designer what to build, then prototype it, ship it with coding agents and prove it works with evidence
Grow the design system and component library together with the designer
Make architecture calls across the stack, review other people's work and raise the pod's bar

Requirements

Full-stack in production: shipped both backend and frontend code that real users rely on
AI-first: uses coding agents every day, and they write all of your code
Builds things in your own time, big or small
Has shipped at least one cross-platform mobile or desktop app
Has worked on a design system or component library
Has product judgment: can partner with a designer and prototype without waiting for mockups or a PM
Comfortable with ambiguity and gets moving without full specs
Checks quality with evidence, not by reviewing every line
5+ years of experience and fluent English
Nice to have: Ruby on Rails (solid experience in another server-side framework is fine), or the mobile/desktop platform not yet done
