Description

A web3 infrastructure company that builds a suite of developer APIs for tokenized trading is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for its API Products team. The role is a hands-on individual contributor position with end-to-end ownership: from researching the problem and designing architecture to shipping the first version of new trading APIs and supporting the ones already live. The team integrates liquidity sources, optimizes for gas, slippage and latency, and splits routes so wallets, exchanges and trading apps get the best possible outcome. Remote work with EU timezones preferred, pay in USD plus equity and tokens.

Responsibilities

Lead projects from first idea to production on new products and already live APIs
Build new APIs and trading products, from researching the problem and designing architecture to shipping the first version
Maintain and extend existing APIs, including support for new chains, bridges and customer-requested features
Keep APIs fast and reliable as traffic grows and participate in the on-call rotation
Investigate failed trades and stuck transfers using logs, traces and onchain data, and resolve the root cause
Work with product, legal and GTM, turning business and compliance needs into technical decisions
Write design documents for your work and review teammates' designs and pull requests
Collaborate closely with the product team and some of the biggest customers

Requirements

6+ years of backend engineering experience, including at least 2 years in DeFi at a trading app, wallet, DEX aggregator or onchain data company
Senior or Lead Engineer with a track record of owning complex projects end to end
Experience building and maintaining developer-facing APIs
Deep onchain knowledge, especially EVM: calldata, contract interfaces, gas and approvals
Strong system design experience for production-scale backend services
AI power user who multiplies engineering impact without letting it replace judgment
Clear communicator, comfortable explaining technical tradeoffs to non-engineers
Alignment with core values: do the right thing, consistently ship, focus on long-term impact
Able to attend annual in-person team offsites around the globe
Nice to have: experience with cross-chain or bridging, or with DEX aggregation
Nice to have: experience with ecosystems outside of EVM, such as Solana
Nice to have: experience with TypeScript and/or Rust
